2019 Runaway Bay Wrap-Up

The 12th Runaway Bay Carnival was the most successful yet with 99 teams taking part.

Six teams came from overseas – three from New Zealand and one each from Norfolk Island, the Cook Islands and the United Kingdom.

There were also three women’s teams, the most ever.

Over the three days, 250 games were played on ten fields.

Total player registrations were a record 1,856 including 391 who elected to wear either red or gold shorts.

Jason King and Phil Gould, AM were the special guests at the Opening and Closing Functions.  Ten teams received five-year Appreciation Plaques and nine teams and five referees received ten-year Appreciation Trophies.

All in all, a great Carnival.
